Dr. William W. Colman, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who provides expert care for a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions. As managing partner at Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess, he combines advanced training with years of experience to help patients recover from injuries and regain their active lifestyle.

Dr. Colman specializes in treating and preventing sports injuries, including ligament and tendon injuries, as well as joint conditions from overuse or trauma. He also focuses on non-operative management of hip and knee arthritis, joint replacement surgery, and shoulder and knee replacements. His expertise includes orthobiologic treatments like PRP and BMAC, which use the body’s natural healing processes to manage pain and promote recovery. Whether through conservative care or advanced surgery, Dr. Colman is dedicated to helping patients restore function and return to the activities they enjoy.

During his fellowship at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute in New York City, Dr. Colman gained valuable experience providing care for professional athletes, including members of the New York Knicks, Yankees, and Liberty. This hands-on experience informs his approach to treating sports injuries, ensuring his patients receive the same level of care as elite athletes.

Dr. Colman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS) and a member of the American Medical Association. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active with tennis, cycling, soccer, and spending time with his family, as well as pursuing his interest in digital photography.
